Philosophy

I believe in the inherent health of every person and work collaboratively with individuals to identify strengths, build resilience, set goals and develop skills to address the challenges that life brings their way.  I enjoy working with the college population as it is such an exciting and transformative time in one’s life.  I am honored by those who invite me to walk beside them on the  path of growth and change.

My practice is client centered, grounded in mindfulness, trauma-informed, and is built on relationship and connection.   In my work, I provide a safe space to explore together, to listen and learn from one another,  practice perspective taking,  develop new skills and work toward  change and healing in pursuit of life goals and happiness.

Areas of Interest

As a generalist practitioner I see students struggling with developmental and identity issues, anxiety, depression and academic and college adjustment issues, relationship concerns and personal growth.  Areas of specific interest or experience include: working with clients who struggle with body image and/or eating disorders, relationship problems including interpersonal and sexual violence, and have received training in addressing trauma using EMDR and other approaches. I aim to introduce information and skills on the mind/body connection and as a certified yoga instructor I sometimes introduce this practice into my sessions.
