Allergy Injections
Many students need regular injections for allergies. While UMD Health Services does not conduct allergy testing, we will store, without liability, a student's current vial of allergy serum and administer the injections. Students must provide their allergist's written orders along with the serum. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their serum has arrived at HS. Students will need to have received their initial allergy shot(s) at their home allergy clinic or equivalent.
Allergy shot orders should include:
- The dosage schedule and date of last injection
- Identification information such as the patient's name and date of birth
- The allergist's name, address, phone number and fax number
- A copy of the allergy clinic's general guidelines for administration
Health Services provides allergy injections on Wednesdays, between 8:30am-3:30pm, during the academic year (call for summer availability), and requires a 30 minute wait-time following all allergy injections. The charge for this service is $10 for the first injection and $5 for each additional injection.
