Allergy Injections

Many students need regular injections for allergies. While UMD Health Services does not conduct allergy testing, we will store, without liability, a student's current vial of allergy serum and administer the injections. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their serum has arrived at HS.  Students will need to have received their initial allergy shot(s) at their home allergy clinic or equivalent.

There are important documents along with your allergy serum that are required from your allergist/allergy clinic before you can make an appointment. We also require a signed Authorization for Disclosure, which can be signed when arriving for your first allergy shot appointment. You can also download the form and bring it with you to your appointment. This form can be mailed, faxed or emailed to Health Services.

Allergy shot orders must include:

  1. The dosage schedule and date of last injection.
  2. Identification information such as the patient's name and date of birth.
  3. The allergist’s name, clinic address, phone number and fax number.
  4. A copy of the allergy clinic’s general guidelines for administration.

Health Services provides allergy injections on Wednesdays, between 8:30am-3:30pm, during the academic year and requires a 30 minute wait-time following all allergy injections. The charge for this service is $10 for the first injection and $5 for each additional injection.
