Sara Cedars, MSW, LICSW

Counselor

Education: BA in Sociology and International Relations from UW Madison. Masters in Social Work (MSW) from UMD (2009). Licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Minnesota since 2015.

Working at UMD since 2018.

I enjoy working with students and making connections with individuals and couples across the wide spectrum of identities and backgrounds. I have a special interest in the following clinical areas: grief and loss, anxiety, depression, identity development, gender identity, human sexuality, life transitions and relationship concerns. I have a certification in Narrative therapy and believe that we all have multiple stories. While the “problem story” may often be front and center, I love working with students to remember stories of strength, resistance and connection.

In my spare time I love traveling and being outdoors, as connecting with nature feeds my mind, body and spirit.
